Federation Update From The President

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as the Federation works to move forward after the loss of Bobbi Brady. Bobbi offered her time and dedication to the club that has left a large void. I am coming to you today to ask for your help in filling that void. Below are some tasks that Bobbi handled as well as others that were created at the January meeting. I am asking you to step up and help the club move forward and grow by taking on some of these challenges.

1. Bobbi worked directly with our Website volunteer Colleen Timko to put information on the blog. If someone could bring updated legislative information and updates to the blog that is a great way to get information out there.

2. At the January meeting we discussed state wide coordinator’s to bring legislative information awareness in two areas. One would be in the Dog Show area and the other would be in the community area. These coordinators would work with member’s throughout the state to offer education and make presentations at dogs shows and community event’s, like the booths at “dog walks” or attending Responsible Dog Owner Day throughout the state.

3. Membership chair who would chair a committee to increase membership in all area’s as outlined in the constitution.

4. Fund raising Chair to form a committee to look at fundraising opportunities.

5. Match chair to partner with shows in Ohio to provide a federation match which could include a presentation about the Federation and current legislation.

Finally one area I would like to see the club work on is an annual educational fun match in Bobbi’s name to bring awareness of local and state legislation as well as a fun environment to show dogs. If you have ideas or questions or would like to help the club move forward please contact me at info@ofodc.org or call me at 614/302-7998.

Thanks,

Meranda Hendricks
